Office productivity is important to every business. World Cup is causing problems for employers when their employees are not focusing on their work. In Singapore, the situation is not as serious as compared to England. Matches in Singapore starts at 1930, 2200, and 0230 due to the time differences with England. The matches all started after working hours at least they will not be taking leaves just to watch the match. No doubt they will be tired the next day they go to work, they are still be able to work for the day. Employers in Singapore think that rescheduling deadlines, or to hire temporary staff could help in the office productivity. Some employers are willing to compromise for their employees as they know if they are going to hire new batch of people to permanently replace the football fans, it will cost more money as well as time. Cost to do advertising for job vacancy, time for train new staff.


However, in China and England is not the case where employers are understanding enough. There are a lot of football fans around. People can resign just to watch World Cup, or lied to take leaves. There is a very good tool introduced by a business psychologist weighing how importance and urgent is the task on hand. Fans can use this method to prioritize their work and take time off to watch if allowed. A lot of the employers can look at this matter seriously about the productivity of the workers. This can also be a good time to do a performance appraisal so employees can be caution and not affect their work.
