2010 Year of Biodiversity Tries to Rein in Runaway Extinctions (Monday, June 7, 2010 / 6:30 AM)
Human’s selfish action has caused problems for the animals and its habitat. This article illustrated how our past actions have caused the current problems surfacing in the world right now. One of the major problems that are affecting the whole wide world is global warming.
This is due to the increase in carbon dioxide level and its causes the globe temperature to increase. In term creates more problems like melting of polar ice caps and cause difficulties for the animals to hunt for food. Melting of the polar ice caps also increase the sea level and ocean temperatures and destroying animals habitat and even killing them in the process. And animals with thick furs are killed by overheat. Putting many species of animals and plants endangers and even some to extinction.
We should act now and helps save the animals and plants as we share the same planet. We should help to reduce the carbon dioxide by taking public transport and cut down on the air-con usage. Even though individual effort might not make a big different, the combined effort of everybody will definitely help to reduce carbon dioxide level and make a huge different.
